Vehicle Speed Sensor 2 Failure

The vehicle has two speed sensors, and this code means the second one isn’t working right, which messes with various systems that rely on accurate speed information.

The computer monitors the vehicle speed sensor 2 input. If it doesn't receive a signal within a certain range, it triggers this fault code.

Don't just throw parts at it. Walk through these in order — each step tells you whether to keep going or stop and fix what you found.

1. 11. Check the wiring and connector at the vehicle speed sensor 2 for damage or corrosion. Repair or replace as needed. Decision: If wiring is good, proceed to next step; if bad, fix it and clear codes.
2. 22. Measure the voltage at the sensor's connector. You should see variations from 0-5 volts as the vehicle moves. Decision: If voltage is present and changes with speed, continue; if steady or absent, replace the sensor.
3. 33. Inspect the vehicle speed sensor 2 for proper mounting and spinning condition (wiggle it if necessary). Decision: If the sensor seems stuck or damaged, replace it; if it appears fine, move to ECM checks.
4. 44. Check for any additional codes that could relate to the ECM or related systems. Decision: If other codes present, address those first; if clear, ECM might need checking.
